Convocation Research + Design worked with HateAid to explore how Safety by Design principles can be applied to better protect people experiencing online abuse and harassment. Through research and analysis, we developed a practical taxonomy of safety risks and design considerations, examining how different forms of harm can emerge through digital products, interfaces and systems. The work translated these findings into a interactive data visualization to help designers and practitioners identify risks earlier and embed safety considerations throughout the design process.
